Q. How much time is needed to order a cake?
A. We book orders on a first come, first serve basis - so the sooner the better. We like at least 1 week's notice. We may be able to accomodate orders with less than one week's notice, but a rush fee may be added.
Q: How much does a cake cost?
A: Each of our cakes are custom ordered - and each one is different. To give you a basic idea, an 8" cake feeds about 15-18 people and starts at $45.
Q: How much are cupcakes?
A: Regular sized cupcakes decorated like our case are $20 per dozen. Fillings are additional.
Q: Do you offer cake tastings?
A. See the wedding section which explains how we conduct our tastings. If you are going to be ordering a cake other than for a wedding, we suggest purchasing a cupcake or two from our case to try.
Q: Do you only make cake and cupcakes?
A. No - we make all kinds of desserts! Brownies, cheesecakes, cookies, macarons - you name it! If you don't see something in our case - just ask and we will gladly make it for you!
Q: What is gelato?
A. 'Gelato' is Italian for icecream. It is made with milk instead of heavy cream so it has less fat that traditional ice cream. It also is made with all fresh ingredients right here in our shop and there are no preservatives used. Very little sugar is added to each batch if any and very little air is incorporated into the product so the resulting product is dense and full of flavor! (Some ice cream brands can have as much as 50% air whipped into the product so you get what you pay for!) Gelato is also served at a slightly warmer temperature than ice cream so your taste buds dont freeze as much and you are able to taste what you are eating better.
Q: I want a specialty cake but I don't like fondant. Can you do it?
A. All of our specialty cakes are fondant covered. We torte all of our cakes so you get four layers of cake and three layers of frosting (or fillings) as well as the layer of buttercream under the fondant layer. It's the best of both worlds! We have a fondant sheeter so we are able to get the fondant layer super thin. All fondants are NOT created equal (Just like all cake is not created equal...) so we encourage you to try our fondant! It is one of the best and highest quality fondants available on the market. We promise you will be pleasantly suprised :)
Q. What if I don't want a speciaty cake? Do I still have to have fondant?
A. If you aren't looking for a specialty cake, we offer dessert cakes which don't have fondant coverings. They are decorated similarly to our cupcakes and not able to be customized. We can however add an inscription for you.
